The neighborhood is a collection of residence halls, they're all fostered around a different community theme, that different community motto, and those are all home to primarily first year students. It's just another way we really are able to create a smaller community as well. So, anytime we have neighborhood dinners or have neighborhood themed events or ways to bring residents together just to get to know one another, have little social activities within that neighborhood, they're all going to be fostered around the different community themes.
There's a wide variety of on-campus housing options for students, for sure. So the residence hall setups can vary from that suite style housing, so you're sharing a bathroom with your suitemates, and then we've also got kind of the more classic community style residence halls with the community bathrooms and one other roommate, as well as an apartment style. So there's a wide range.
Right behind me is Carolina, one of the most iconic buildings on campus and located in Historic Neighborhood, which is about a quick five minute walk from any dining hall, and any of your classrooms. Carolina is an all female residence hall here on campus. Each room comes with a bed, a dresser, a desk, and a closet. Students can even rent their own microfridge for the entire year.
All rooms have their own bathroom here in Colonnades, all the furniture that you see here that is in the light brown color, comes with the room. In addition to a nice full closet, our room has two nice windows which is very good for all of our plants.
This is a four person single room apartment with a full living space, so we have two chairs, a couch, coffee table.
One of my favorite aspects about all of our residential neighborhoods here at Elon is that they all have sand volleyball courts and basketball courts.
One of the benefits of living on campus is definitely proximity to classes. Elon already is not this gigantic university, but if you are going to live on campus, you are so close to all of your classes, and it is really, really convenient. You're also close to a lot of student life centers, a lot of clubs and organizations have meetings here on campus, the dining halls, you're all really really close all that on campus.
